This blog is an assignment for 231 applied research. My blog will have information on yurts. The history of them as well as possible uses for yurts in Kamloops and the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD).
Hey Carri, I was wondering if maybe there was a way that you could have an outer layer for in the winter that could be removed and stored during the summer. Model looks good.
Nice looking model Cari. Have you/were you going to decide on the best place in Kamloops to set up this village? You'd probably want it in a fairly central location but with the hills of Kamloops that may be difficult to find.
Yeah I am trying to look in to a bunch of places that would be ideal because my idea is that this yurt village would be able to be put up and taken down easily and moved from one place to another as needed :) Thats a good idea thanks brandy :)
Fantastic job of building the model and posting the photos! This hard work will really pay off next semester when you write your report. I like the idea of creating a different entryway. It could be open like a patio in the summer and enclosed to form a vestibule in the winter. Also, could the yurts be joined together to form family units?
